Mailboxes
Oil on Linen, 12" x 9 ", 1991

This was a painting to capture the simplicity of how mailboxes were lined up along State Road in Gay Head. It is mostly a flat painting, with subtle color variations. It was one of the first where I used a red underpainting. The mailboxes bring the sky color down under the tree line.
